The Weepies - OrbitingAugust 27th, 2008 |
Man, what an absolutely beautiful song. I’d been hunting for its chords for the last couple days, but couldn’t find anything online, so last night I just buckled down and figured them out myself.
The Weepies
Orbiting, off the album “Hideaway”
Chords by Mason McCuskey (http://www.cuttlefishindustries.com)
The easiest way to play the G, C/G, G chords in the verse is to hold your ring finger on the 6th string (and muting the 5th), and your pinky on the 1st string, and then slap down your index and middle finger to form the C/G.
G: 3x0003
C/G: 3x2013
C: x32010
Am: x02210
D: xx0232
Em: 022000
Am G D (x2)
G C/G G C D G C/G G C/G
You named me judge the day that I was born
G C/G G C D G C/G G C/G
You asked too much to fix what you had torn
Am G D
Things got out of hand,
Am G D
now I understand
G
And I'm out of your range
C
Now it's kind of strange
Em D
How we change orbit in our lives
G C
You were kind of a moon outside of my room
Em D
I could just feel you nearby
Am G D
Now I feel you gone
Am G D
'Cause I know which side you're on
G C/G G C/G
And it's not mine
G C/G G C D G C/G G C/G
I walk the line between now and then
G C/G G C D G C/G G C/G
It's deep-sea diving with no oxygen
Am G D
Guess I went somewhere to hide
Am G D
Far behind my eyes
Am G D
I willed you there to see
Am G D
But you never came for me
G
Now I'm out of your range
C
Now it's kind of strange
Em D
How we change orbit in our lives
G C
You were kind of a moon outside of my room
Em D
I could just feel you nearby
Am G D
Now I feel you gone
Am G D
'Cause I know which side you're on
G C/G G
And it's not mine
C/G G C/G G
And it's not mine
C/G G C/G G
And it's not mine

I’ve been reading your GUI in DirectX articles recently and was hoping to look at a complete/working code sample, but haven’t found anything. You wouldn’t happen to have something like that handy, would you? If so, please e-mail it to me. Thanks!

Sorry, I don’t have a code sample for that. You may want to search for an open-source GUI library, or consider the purchase of an indie game engine - I think the C4 and Torque engines both have GUI frameworks.
